Gastritis: Symptoms, Diagnosis and Treatment

Gastritis is a condition caused by inflammation or irritation of the stomach lining, which develops suddenly or gradually.
The symptoms of gastritis develop in several stages. They may start out mild and often go unnoticed, but if left untreated, it can lead to chronic gastritis, a more severe form of the disease. Some of these symptoms include:
Indigestion
Stomach pain and burning
Nausea and vomiting
A feeling of fullness and bloating after meals
Bleeding or even stomach ulcers.
The most common causes of gastritis are:
Stress.
Medications such as aspirin, Voltaren (diclofenac), ibuprofen,
Corticosteroids.
Alcohol consumption.
Helicobacter pylori infection.
Other bacterial and viral infections.
Bile reflux (backflow of bile into the stomach).
