The importance of medical check-ups for people with diabetes

People with diabetes should have regular check-ups and consult their specialist doctor on an ongoing basis. This plays a key role in controlling the disease and preventing it from progressing further.
People with diabetes who are treated with insulin injections should generally see their doctor at least every three to four months.
People with diabetes who are treated with pills or who manage their diabetes through diet should see their doctor at least every four to five months.
Check-ups are also necessary if you notice complications or find it difficult to control your blood sugar level.
