ECG in Tirana – Electrocardiogram
An ECG in Tirana (electrocardiogram) is one of the most common heart examinations. It is quick, painless and gives important information about your heart rhythm.
What is an ECG?
An electrocardiogram records the electrical activity of the heart. Several small electrodes connected to the machine are placed on the chest, arms and legs. The recording takes only a few minutes and causes no pain.
What does an ECG show?
- the rhythm and rate of the heartbeat
- rhythm disorders (arrhythmias)
- signs of reduced oxygen supply to the heart muscle
- signs of a previous heart attack
- thickening of the heart walls
When is it recommended?
An ECG is recommended when you have chest pain, an irregular heartbeat, dizziness or shortness of breath, as well as in regular check-ups for high blood pressure or diabetes, or before surgery.
How to prepare
No preparation is needed. It is best to wear clothes that are easy to remove from the upper body and not to apply cream to your chest on the day of the examination.
