The most common infections during pregnancy

Some infections during pregnancy develop without clinical symptoms or without harm to the mother and fetus. Others can be dangerous for the fetus, especially in the early stages of its development.
The most common infections transmissible during pregnancy are:
-Toxoplasmosis
-Cytomegalovirus
-Parvovirus B19
-Rubella virus
-Syphilis
-Chickenpox (varicella)
-HIV and Hepatitis B/C, which are less often transmitted via the transplacental route.
The risk of an adverse effect on the fetus decreases as the pregnancy progresses. Early screening for the above infections is recommended by gynecology and obstetrics guidelines, especially in the first trimester of pregnancy.
