Published on 23 March 2023 · Dr. Medical Clinic & Lab
Coronary artery disease is a condition in which the coronary arteries, in other words the heart’s blood vessels, become narrowed, blocked or damaged.
The main symptoms of coronary artery disease are:
-Chest pain (mainly on the left side) of a burning or pressing nature -Dyspnea (shortness of breath)
-Palpitations (irregular heartbeats)
-Marked physical weakness
-Sweating
If you notice these symptoms, it is important to book a consultation with a specialist, especially if these complaints appear for the first time or become more frequent and more severe.
The initial diagnosis is made through the medical history, an electrocardiogram (ECG) and laboratory parameters. Speed of diagnosis is a key factor in treating the disease and, in most cases, in preventing complications
